Browsers
To use this site, you must use a web browser that supports
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), cookies, and JavaScript. Browsers that meet these requirements include:
- Mozilla Firefox 1.5 (Windows/Mac): Available from the Mozilla Corporation by clicking here.
- Mozilla 1.7 (Windows/Mac): Available from Mozilla.org by clicking here.
- Internet Explorer 6 (Windows): Available from Microsoft Corporation by clicking here.
- Netscape Browser 8.1 (Windows): Available from Netscape Communications Corporation by clicking here.
- Apple Safari 1.3 (Mac); (generally included with OS X 10.2/10.3): Available from Apple Computer by clicking here.
Settings for cookies, JavaScript, and Pop-up blocking
Additionally, your browser must be configured to accept cookies, run
Javascript and allow popups from leaderservices.com. Some of these settings are generally enabled by default.
To check if your browser has these options enabled:
Mozilla Firefox 1.5
Click Tools > Options. Select "Content" from the menu on the top.
Make sure the checkbox next to "Javascript" is checked. Click the advanced
button to the right of "Javascript" and make sure that at least the following
are checked:
- Move or resize existing windows
- Raise or Lower windows
- Change status bar text
- Change images
Click the "Allowed Sites" button across from "Block Popup Windows." If
"www.acmontheweb.com" does not appear in the list, enter it into the text box
(without the quotation marks) and click "Allow."
Select "Privacy" from the menu on the top. If there is no checkmark next to the "Allow sites to set cookies" option, click the box
to check it. Click OK.
Mozilla 1.7
Click Edit > Preferences. In the Category Window, expand the Privacy
and Security option by clicking the + sign next to it. Click the Cookies option.
On the right side of the screen, make sure the Enable All Cookies or Enable
Cookies for the originating web site only option is selected. In
the Category Window, expand the Advanced option by clicking
the + sign next to it. Click the Scripts and Plugins option.
On the right side of the screen, make sure there is a checkmark in the Javascript box
for Navigator, and that all boxes are checked in the Allow Scripts
To window.
In the Category Window, click the Popup Windows item. Either:
- If you checked the box next to Block unrequested popup windows, click the Allowed Sites button. Type www.acmontheweb.com in the box on the top of the screen and click the Add button. Then click OK.
Or
- Uncheck the box next to Block unrequested popup windows.
Internet Explorer 6
Click Tools > Internet Options. Click the Security tab. Click the
Custom Level button. Scroll down to Active Scripting and make sure that
Enabled is selected. Click the Privacy tab and select at least Medium (which
is the default; if you otherwise customize your settings for cookies, you
must allow first-part cookies in order for the site to function). Click OK.
If you are using Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP with Service Pack 2, click Tools --> Pop-up Blocker. Either:
- Click Pop-up Blocker Settings. Type www.acmontheweb.com in the box on the top of the screen and click the Add button. Then click Close.
Or
- Click Turn off Pop-up Blocker.
Netscape Browser 8.1
Click Tools > Options. Click Site Controls. In the Site List tab, click the Add Site button. In the Domain field, type www.acmontheweb.com. In the Initial Trust Settings, select "I Trust This Site." Click the Add Site button. In the Web Features section, make sure Enable JavaScript/VBScript is checked.
Apple Safari 1.3:
Click Safari > Preferences. Click the Security icon. Make sure there is a checkmark next to "Enable JavaScript." Under Accept Cookies, make sure either Always or Only from sites you navigate to is selected.
Click Safari -> Block Pop-Up Windows to uncheck the pop-up blocker option (alternatively, press and hold Command [the Apple or "flower" key] while pressing "K" on your keyboard to toggle the pop-up blocker on or off).
If you are using a third-party cookie-blocking utility, check the product's
documentation to change your settings to allow cookies for leaderservices.com.
Adobe Reader
Some documents on this site are delivered in Portable Document
Format (PDF), requiring the free Adobe Reader to view. You can download
a copy at Adobe's
web site. We recommend you use the latest version.
Proxy servers and browser caches
Caching refers to the local storage of web pages on a local school district
server or your browser's cache in order to improve performance. Caching,
however, can disrupt the proper operation of this site. Proxy servers at
your school district should be set to NOT cache pages from this site, as
this could interfere with the proper operation of the site. Additionally,
your web browser should not be set to cache pages.
- Firefox 1.5: No configuration change is necessary.
- Mozilla 1.7: Click Edit > Preferences. In the Advanced Category (you
may have to click the + sign next to the word Advanced), click Cache. On
the right side of the screen, select the option Every time I view
the page under Compare the page in the cache to the page
on the network. Click OK.
- Internet Explorer 6: Click Tools > Internet Options. Click the Settings
button under Temporary Internet Files and choose the option Every
visit to the page under Check for newer version of the
stored page. Click OK twice.
- Netscape Browser 8.1: No configuration change is necessary.
- Apple Safari 1.3: No configuration change is necessary.
